Thanxx for the tips. Unfortunately I didn’t find any web additional features to their AT&T GOphone plans. I find the Cricket option interesting. I just have to figure out if we can use an unlocked iPhone on their network.

Check out AT&T they do pre-paid and have the iPhone in the US. Maybe they can help you out. COntact them before you come though to make sure!

What would you recommend for a european visitor like me who will like to have kind of prepaid mobile internet service on his european iPhone while visiting?
Does it exist in the US? Having a prepaid plan for voice+internet will be a “must” but I’m not sure it does exist in the US.

I’ve signed up for Cricket Wireless. Its $40 a month for “unlimited” (read, 5G) data. It is “3G” but their speeds are much slower than the other providers mentioned here. It works and is much cheaper, and there is no committment.

exn: Wimax is great, but it is only in a few cities. Until it is really pushed out to other areas, it is not really a viable solution for a mobile user.

Cricket Wireless has mobile broadband with 3G (i think) speeds in certain markets. Very reasonable rates with a 5G limit. I have demoed this service and I find it easy to use and fast (for me).
