I prefer to use a software which can do all of those things: downloads youtube videos, downloads google videos, records any other flash videos, converts youtube videos to 3gp and avi or any other format, captures streaming movies from streaming online movies sites.
Yes, there is a software like that, I'm using it and it's called Tunebite and it records youtube videos without any problem and with good quality, it even converts videos to mp3s, automatically while downloading flash videos.
Tunebite youtube downloader can be also used as a flv converter because it converts flash videos automatically while downloading them.
For recording youtube videos or any other flash video from streaming online video sites we can use Tunebite Freeware, this version saves videos to your machine and converts them to any desired format as it is an universal converter.
I found also a nice tutorial about how to download YouTube flash videos and convert them to MP4 and WMV files and even to mp3. See it here:

I'm using a cool video download program named YouTube Robot to everybody. Its function is as follows:
With YouTube Robot you can forget about recharging your player with fresh movies and just take care of your business, while the software automatically checks your favorite video sites for new movies, downloads and transfers them to your player.
When you first run the program and see its face, you’ll want to pick it up off the screen and push all the buttons on the deck — so natural it looks, just like if it was created for iPod fans (or was it?).In the Download Manager window that you see, you can explore your movie collection, preview and play movies, toss them between folders and convert them from and to different formats. It supports FLV, MP4, MP3, WMV, AVI, MP2, MPEG, WMA, AAC, SWF, 3GP and other formats.
If you still get lost, you can take advantage of the built-in wizard will guide you step by step through the download setup process. But should you like doing everything by hand, you can just right-click on the movie Web page in your favorite browser and select the command on the menu to get the download going.
Now you can just leave it alone and go in for something more interesting than watching progress bars. The program will fetch movie files and automatically place the new files to the selected USB storage. So when you get back, you’ll have the player packed with the latest collection of videos and ready for the new round of the never-ending show.
It is a powerful tool that enables you to batch download, convert and transfer to mobile devices videos from YouTube and other similar websites.
I wish it is usefull for you.Its information is as follows:

Another site that is good for this is the one I just made :P it has support for about 30 different video sites.

It also has video downloader search bars that integrate with both FireFox 2.x and Internet Explorer 7.x-11.x Search Bar feature.

In addition it allows you to add Download links with videos you embed online with a single line of code and no javascript which allows use of the links on MySpace and other sites that do not allow javascript.

Take YouTube Videos with you today announces YouTube Robot 2.0, a tool that enables you to download video from onto your PC, convert it to various formats to watch it when you are on the road on mobile devices like mobile phone, iPod, iPhone, Pocket PC, PSP, or Zune.

YouTube Robot allows you to search for videos using keywords or browse video by category, author, channel, language, tags, etc. When you find something noteworthy, you can preview the video right in YouTube Robot and then download it onto the hard disk drive. The speed, at which you will be downloading, is very high: up to 5 times faster than other software when you download a single file and up to 4 times faster when you download multiple files at a time.

Manual download is not the only option with YouTube Robot. You may as well schedule the download and conversion tasks to be executed automatically, even when you are not around. Downloading is followed by conversion to the format of your choice and uploading videos to a mobile device (if needed). For example, you can plug in iPod, select the video, go to bed, and when you wake up next morning, your iPod will be ready to play new YouTube videos.
