I used StreamTransport for about a year and LOVED it. But in the last 5 months or so, Hulu has changed it’s links and encoding so that StreamTransport can no longer capture them. And it appears the program is no longer updated, so . . . other options?

after mtv.com changed their flash player a month ago, I can’t download anything. it ends up crashing in the streamtransport browser while the videos play fine on IE and firefox.

also, I’ve experienced a few hulu videos that streamtransport doesn’t even detect, and its always the same ones no matter how often I restart.

What about a simple screen capture utility? Granted, one has to babysit it, but it works for everything. There is a very good one, that allows for picking the size of captured frame and of course it grabs audio to. Free for private use, called BB FlashBack Express.

FoxReal YouTube FLV Downloader Pro will download Hulu videos, but it is not free. There is a free version, although I’m not sure if it works as well as the pro version. I got the pro version from the Giveaway of the day website at the end of last year.

You’re right about that. I too have looked at everything and unfortunately this is the best we’ve got. It takes a bit of messing with at times, but I’ve had a high success rate with it.

Sadly, I think StreamTrasport is out of development, but it still works. Sometimes you have to mess with it, exit, restart, etc., try messing around in the app, then back to the videos. You can’t get anything higher than 720 x 480, which is not bad on a 24″ screen, and you need a subscription to get that. It’s probably just a matter of time before Hulu catches up with it. Then, there is really nothing else out there that can grab Hulu. I’ve looked at everything. ST is the only one that can do it.
