The only trouble I have with XWindows Dock is that it is only configured to look like belongs at the bottom of your screen… I like mine at the top of the screen….

No match of objectdock plus. It loads system tray which is very cool feature. It replaced my taskbar completely. I love it.

Dock Settings>General>Misc Options> second option down from top should be checked to avoid the multiple instances.

you must check out x windows dock it has got some features not even supported by mac’s dock actually i know just one that’s gallery view in stack docklet it lets you watch videos or listen songs right from the dock(for those who don’t know wat stack docklet is it is an addition to dock which allows you to open folder directly from dock without actually opening the folder)

I use both RocketDock and 8Start.

No conflicts and both work well. If RocketDock permitted layering I would probably just use it because it supports drag and drop while 8Start requires implementation of short cut to .exe. Not difficult, just not easy like Rocket Dock.

Why isn’t there aby mention of Yahoo Widgets. They have lots of widgets that can perform and behave like a tool dock. I use and they are really cool…

After reading this entry, I tried ObjectDock. For some reason when I click an application that is already running, it opens a new instance. I don’t think the Mac dock does this, does it? It just returns you to the instance that you were already running. I’d love to use a dock but I worry about this problem in all of them.
