Users of Twitter can now sign up for a handy digest that will be delivered to their inbox once a week. Twitter’s new feature will help users who do not follow every single Tweet that comes across their feed. This email will highlight the best of Twitter in the previous week, so users can stay up-to-date on the big things, without having to check on their Twitter feed every five minutes.
This email will show the most relevant Tweets and stories shared by the people you are connected with on Twitter. Because the stores are from people you connect with, it will not only be people you follow. You will also see highly engaging Tweets that the people you follow can see. So, if you have a friend who follows Lady Gaga, you may see a very popular Tweet from her show up in the Twitter email.
The Tweets showcased in the demo email show that interaction with Twitter emails will work the same way it would if you were looking at the Tweets through the Twitter website. For instance, you can click the Tweet to Re-Tweet or favorite the Tweet, or even to respond to the Tweet directly from the email.
Twitter plans to roll out this feature to all users over the coming weeks. Some users may have it available already. As with anything involving notifications from Twitter, you can log in to your account and go to Notification Settings to decide if you want these weekly emails.
