Are you sick of third-party websites that track your private information and slow down the web for you? It’s an annoying part of the Internet, but all kinds of companies want to know what you are doing at all times. A handy browser extension we’ve reviewed in the past called Disconnect.me helps a great deal with informing you of the sites that are trying to access your information and blocking them from doing so.
The creators of this service are back, with its new product called Disconnect 2. It features everything you loved about the first, but with even more great features.
Everything within the app is contained in the handy drop-down that resides in the extension bar. Each website you visit will show you any of the things that are requesting to get access to your information. Once you see what kind of ad servers and other trackers are on a particular site, you can choose to block the ones that you don’t want to see.
Even if you don’t choose to block anything, just knowing what is tracking you and serving you ads is very useful information.
If you see something requesting access that you are not sure about, you can click it in the extension and find out exactly what it is. This will allow you to make an educated decision about whether you want to block it or not. All tracking sites are blocked automatically, but you can choose to go and unblock certain ones if you prefer to let them see your information.
If you are looking for a way to make the web safer and faster, Disconnect 2 is the extension for you.
- Find out who is serving you ads and tracking.
