Rolo, thank you very much for your nice comments !

Please don't give up because of the occasional crashes. I've found the origin of the problem (it's related with the pictures download), and it should be fixed in a week or two (I must replace the http transfer library that I'm currently using, with another one more reliable).

When you talk about linking your database, are you talking about the automatic video files scanning ? If so, were there some movies that surprisingly didn't link automatically, or was it normal because your titles are in some foreign language ?

Okay,
At first I wasn't impressed, but then once I found all the icons and how it worked it was great.
So give it a try if even at first it doesn't look great!
When I searched my database it got most of the films, it didn't get about a fifth of it which you can link yourself anyway.
It's crashed afew times on me so far but it's so worth it.
I would advise anybody with a movie collection to try it out, I've tried countless movie database systems and this is the best i've come across.
Thank you Movie Coollector! I shall re-discover my movie collection :D

The folder scanning looks at the first words of the file name, until it finds the longest match to a movie title. If there are other things after the movie title ("DVDRIP" or anything), it doesn't interfere.

At the end of the scanning, you get a report of the files that couldn't be matched automatically. You have the possibility to match those files manually, one by one.

re the folder scanning capability, do we need to rename all the titles of our movie files to accommodate the search function, or does Coollector take into account certain naming conventions such as scene release suffixes (eg - DVDRIP, PROPER, etc)

Hey Paul, great question. Updates to the software take place every time you open the application, although you can configure it so that it doesn't automatically update. It is configured to automatically update by default.

We have movies from all countries.

If you notice a movie that's missing from our database, simply request it here:

http://www.coollector.com/116_0.html

and it'll be added with the next database update(2 to 4 updates per month).

How do you update the database with more movies? Hoe extensive is it (i.e. foreign films, indie films, etc)?
