MapFab looks handy and nice with different types of pins, figures...
My only concerns is who long will it stay up? Will the adsens be able to pay the bill and give enough to keep the developer in good mood? I can't find if there is some money behind the project
I have used google maps for conferences and meeting and it takes a time to get all hotells, event, meeting halls ... in place and then you want it to be up at least before and during the whole conference.

It's really hard to say how long the site like MapFab going to remain online). I wouldn't worry about it, If it disappears at one point you will just find an alternative web app with similar offering. That being said, if you're planning to create lots of maps for an ongoing usage I would suggest going with Google Maps instead.
