    I think that http://0bin.net/ is the best self-destructing msging service -- it's web-based, so you can use the short links via SMS or wherever afterwards. It also supports images/attachments and encrypts all posts -- client-side.

    Also, it is open source...so, if you want, you can run it on your own server.
