I tried Katmouse earlier but found it quite confusing. The fact that it lets me quickly jump to the window behind the active one doesn’t really change anything for me.

@ daveytay i tried Katmouse today and it’s really good for almost 400 Kb free application

but it doesn’t offer full control in the mouse as Volumouse offers

I have found that Katmouse is a great windows app to run in the background. It makes scrolling work in everything.

“The prime purpose of the KatMouse utility is to enhance the functionality of mice with a scroll wheel, offering ‘universal’ scrolling: moving the mouse wheel will scroll the window directly beneath the mouse cursor (not the one with the keyboard focus, which is default on Windows OSes). This is a major increase in the usefullness of the mouse wheel.

Another feature involves the wheel button. Since the wheel button is not consistently used in Windows, KatMouse can use it for a kind of task switching: with a click of the wheel button you can push a window to the buttom of the stack of windows that is your desktop, making a recovered window the active window.”

really nice tips . loved the software [ but not the firefox extension ] [ opera user here ]

i used Mouse Wheel Control from ardamax.com and it’s been really good

but the bad thing is that it’s not free i had to pay some cash to use it ..

4 years ago i was using some application called ” Wheel mouse ” i can’t find it online anymore but it was free it had icon of a gray box .. i think

one firefox addon not mentioned here or in the previous article is milewideback. when your browser is maximized, you can move your mouse to the left hand side of the screen to enable some handy mouse commands. the scrollwheel will cycle through your tabs while left click/right click will page forward/back. I use it constantly.
