@Wenling: Don't forget to also mention that Video Converter (for Windows)is commercial - says 35.95 and this is a sale price. As to video converters being difficult, I disagree. All you need to know is the input and output formats and the rest (video/audio bit-rate, FPS, etc) usually come as default settings - unless you wanna dig in and tweak things.

As you know that there are very few Mac users in comparison with Windows and this makes your job harder when you want to burn AVI movie and video files to DVD on Mac. There are many CD or DVD burners for windows, but when you want to burn AVI to DVD on Mac system, it will become more difficult.
Here I would like to share you the guide on <a href="http://www.wikiappletv.com/page/How%20to%20Burn%20avi%20movie%20files%20to%20DVD%20on%20Mac%3F" rel="nofollow">How to Burn avi movie files to DVD on Mac.

I would prefer this <a href="http://www.hd-dvd-ripper.net/video-converter.html#139" title="video file converter" rel="nofollow">video file converter</a>. Easy to use, even a computer illiterate like me can figure out how to use it to convert video files, extract audio off video.
It's also a HD video converter, supports convert HD to HD, HD to SD.

Mr. Karl Gechlik,

As far as Media conversion of all common formats to same common formats go, there is now an oversupply of them (here is some of them: Super, FormatFactory, MediaCoder, Any Video Converter, Free Studio Manager (from DVDVideoSoft - http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/), Free Video Converter (koyote software), Total Video Converter, XMedia Recode, Automen, WinFF, Quick Media Converter (from cocoonsoftware.com), Avidemux, Oxelon Media Converter (from www.oxelon.com/media_converter.html), Media Converter SA (from http://www.mediaconverter.org/) and RazorLame to name a few. I feel you kinda wasted our time by coming (of all the free ones that are now continually popping up) with a free variant of a commercial product - shame on you.

I distrust a freeware that is a by-product or watered down version of a shareware. If you can choose between the two, please pick the dedicated freeware.

As to which is the best one or does things with no bullshitting, I will give it to Format Factory. That`s why it`s in the Top Freeware downloads list (No. 1 yesterday) in brotherssoft site - http://www.brothersoft.com/ --- this software can not only convert medias and rip DVD/cd but also can trim and join all types of files including audio.

Don`t be lazy -- review Format Factory and Free Studio Manager thoroughly in the future.
