There’s plenty of variety when it comes to launching applications, especially in Mac OS X. Some popular choices such as QuickSilver, LaunchBar or Alfred can do the job, but sometimes you may want to just go back to the basics, with just the functionality that you need it to do, in a stripped down interface with preferably little impact on system resources.
If so, then take a look a Chuck, a very small Mac application which is there to help you launch your applications. The application which you’re looking for should appear after just a few keystrokes, or you can assign aliases so that you can launch your most favorite applications after just one character.
Chuck is also extremely light on resources and its speed is quite impressive with instantaneous results. Plus, you get a very cool looking moustache in your menu bar. That alone should be reason enough to install it.
- Launch your applications after an instantaneous search.
- Assign aliases to make searches even quicker for favorite applications.
- Super light on resources.
