In fact, that might be a starting point for some people. I have a stock 450 watt PSU in my Acer, and when I wanted to upgrade my video card recently I basically just aimed to get the best card I could without having to upgrade my PSU. Ended up with the very satisfying HD Radeon 5770.

Many video cards will require a higher wattage power supply before you can use them. If you don’t want to shell out extra $ for a new PS… you need to make sure your current PS can support your new video card. Excellent post though :)
