The popular game of Pong has just turned 40, and to celebrate, Atari has released a brand new Pong game for iOS dubbed Pong World. Not only is this an official Pong game for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, it’s also free an includes all sorts of new features such as “paddle creatures”, upgrades and powers. The game is already available to download through the App Store. While officially by Atari itself, the game was actually an entry in Atari’s Pong Indie Developer Challenge, where developers raced to create a new Pong experience for iOS for the alluring sum of $100,000 as prize.

If the game is not good enough celebration, be sure to check out Atari’s Facebook Page for another 40th anniversary party prize: an Atari 2600 themed Xbox 360, complete with an attached LCD screen for the ultimate gaming experience. And yes, it really looks sort of like the real thing!

Until Sunday, everyone will get the chance to win this crazy machine. All you have to do is visit one of the affiliate websites and complete a puzzle/trivia question that has to do with Atari or Pong. Once you do that, you can go ahead and fill in the form on Atari’s Facebook page, and you’re in. Atari will announce the winner on December 4th, so you won’t have long to wait.

Which one do you think is better, the original Pong or Pong World?
