The free AnyBizSoft PDF to Word 2.5.3 is still working with MS Office Word installed. The new upgraded version 3.0.0 has already addressed this issue.

Many PDF Word converts handle single column text well but fail miserably when presented with a typical two column layout by interlacing the two columns.

The other area of question is whether it handles the (thankfully) more instances where authors comment about a given passage by offsetting a commentary block alongside the main passage.

You can use OpenOffice, Abiword, Google Docs to read it.
