Bytescout Screen Capturing is a piece of freeware that comes as a desktop application for computers running the Windows operating system. The function of the application is to let you record screencasts (make recordings of what goes on at your monitor’s display).
The app offers a good number of very useful features including multiple recording types. These recording types include recording a set rectangular region, recording the region around the mouse, and recording the entire screen. Video recording from your webcam and inclusion of audio through your microphone are also features provided to you by the application. A variety in the output video format is also provided.
You start by downloading the application’s setup file sized at nearly 0.8 MB. After you download and install the setup file, you can view the small window of the application that includes buttons labeled Record, Record with Webcam, Play, Settings, and Visit Our Web Page. Clicking on the Record or Record with Webcam button provides you with the options to record rectangular regions, those around the mouse, or the entire display.
Once you have made your selection, the recording begins and it keeps on doing so till you stop it through the app’s window or a hotkey shortcut for this purpose. By default, the videos are saved in the WMV video file format, but you can access the app’s preferences to choose the AVI video format as well as specifications of codecs used, the dimensions of the video, and frames per second rate.
