Yes the package name isn’t very intuitive, but it installs Gnome Classic, which you can then choose from the login screen.

This version of Gnome Classic is built on Gnome 3, which means you’ll still need to install Gnome Tweak Tool to really tweak your settings, but other than that, it’s just like using Gnome 2 again, complete with panels, applets, and custom launchers. The only difference is you have to hold down ALT while right-clicking on a panel to access its options menu.
