I find also that Windows Live Writer works well and haven’t felt the need to switch. Surprising for a Microsoft product.

Hi all,
Though BlogDesk looks interesting, I was disappointed to find that it does not support Blogger.

An alternative product that DOES support Blogger and much more is Zoundry Raven.

It is based on Python script so it is multi-platform. It is free. It works!

I have tried several blogging applications. Windows Live Writer is my blog application of choice. It is easy to use and works well.

If you are publishing text-only entry, the built-in WordPress editor is perfectly fine.

But when working with images, Windows Live Writer saves a lot amount of time. You can insert images easily like a word processor, so there’s no need to upload them one by one. There are also a couple of image editing function that you’ll find very handy, like cropping, resizing, adding border around the image, and so on.

Windows Live Writer is pretty good as well. However, this can be an alternative to it as well. Some bloggers like to try new apps that allow them to complete their tasks. This can be an excellent alternative.

I formerly used the WordPress.com built-in editor, but I found that Windows Live Writer was MUCH better at fitting my workflow. For example, if I am blogging about the content of a particular tab in Firefox, Alt-Tab switches me between the web page displayed in Firefox and the post I’m working on in Live Writer. Since the Alt-Tab combination is pretty much automatic if you work with Windows, this helps a lot.

I don’t know , may be I am wrong..
I don’t find any problem with using wordpress itself for publishing my articles.

It is very fast
It is very simple

So what advantage we are getting by using a desktop tool.

Please excuse me if I am shouting some rubbish.

I go the other way. I prefer Windows Live Writer, which comes as a shock because I rarely eel that Microsoft do anything right. But I find it easy to use and suits my needs.
