Sometimes websites aim to target Internet users from a specific country. Giving access to all parts of the website to Internet users worldwide would be unnecessary and would simply increase the load on the servers leading to speed delays.

Apart from this, another reason why some websites restrict their content to certain locations is licensing issues. Hulu, for example, lets you view television shows only from the US. If you want to view the content on these websites, you could use web proxies but they do not work on all websites. Here to offer an effective solution via DNS modification is a web service called Blockless.

access us only websites from outside the us

Blockless is a web service that helps you view websites that allow only web traffic from the United States. This website works by making you change your network adapter’s DNS settings. You can either change these settings on your device to enable it access to the US-only websites or you can enter your web router’s settings page and modify the DNS settings from there to enable the same feature on any device using the router’s network.

Whichever option you use, you are provided with instructional guides on how to change your device’s router’s settings based on router company, computer OS, and phone OS.

Basically the application two servers for DNS – primary and secondary. You simply access your network card’s IPv4 settings and use as the primary DNS server and as the secondary DNS server.

With these settings in place, you will be able to browse numerous US-only websites such as Hulu, Pandora, Netflix, ABC Family, and many more. The site lets you create an account and use its services freely for 7 days. If you would like to continue the service beyond that period, you will need to pay a $4.95 monthly subscription.

Fortunately for MakeUseOf readers, the service’s developers have offered 10 free licenses to the first 10 commenters on this post.

  • A user-friendly web service.
  • Lets you access content of US-only websites.
  • Works by modifying your network card’s DNS settings.
  • Provides instructional guide on how to modify DNS settings.

If this works, it would be really useful for so many people. I really hate when sites block access by location.
