***IMPORTANT*** b4 clicking settings or â€œstart rippingâ€ be sure up PLAY the dvd, not the whole thing just a few seconds of the movie, I use VLC (its free and we all love free right? LOL), to play the dvd b4 ripping but if you have some other dvd player it should work just fine.
this â€œunlocksâ€ the dvd and allows you to rip it. not sure why you have to do this and I think the reason other arenâ€™t running into this problem is that they have software that tries to auto play the dvd for them.

Just reied bitRipper after seeing positive comments. However it stops as soon as I hit Settings. Using Vista on an Acer 2GB RAM. Turned off macafee, no difference.

Have been using BitRipper until lately. Had the DivX codec assigned to ripping (faster than the others though not as good resolution). It started coming back with an ”Statsfile’ not found’ error message as well as another error message shortly after clicking on the ‘Start Ripping’ button. May have added other video processing utilities since installing BitRipper. Could they have changed access somehow to codecs that BR uses? Great product otherwise.
