If you’re a Bing user, or thinking of switching to Bing, pay attention. Microsoft has just rolled out a new look for Bing search, which offers a de-cluttered, cleaner and faster experience for Bing users. The new design takes from the Metro theme, obviously, with lots of straight lines and white space.
Microsoft has been upping its game with Bing, trying to rival the ever-dominant Google, and this redesign seems like a good step in the right direction. Not only is the page much less cluttered, but gone are the weird blue and orange colors which never really matched, to be replaced by a subtle Bing logo and not much else. The left sidebar has switched sides, the secondary toolbar under the search box has disappeared, and the line-spacing has been increased significantly. Can you spot the differences?
According to Microsoft, the search itself is now also faster and more accurate, which seems to be true, at least on the accurate part. Overall, there’s no doubt that the redesign turns Bing into a much better search tool. Unfortunately, the new look seems to only be available for Bing US. If you can’t see the new look, trying going here and clicking on “United States”. Hopefully, the new look will reach all other locales soon enough.
What do you think of new look? Are you considering switching to Bing yet?
