I spend an inordinate amount of time customising my Firefox browser the way I want it. I’m always tweaking here and there to get things just perfect. I have the right theme, the right extensions, the right design…..now what would happen if Firefox were to crash and I had to re-install? That’s right kids, I would break down and start smashing things and we don’t want that now do we? Nooooo…..

That’s why I was relieved to discover MozBackup which instantly makes a backup of your Firefox profile at the press of a button – and it’s idiot-proof which means I can operate it! Woo-hoo!

Just download the program and follow the step-by-step process. If you have more than one profile though, make sure you choose the correct profile to back up. Choose what profile features you want copied and press the button.

When it is finished, make sure you keep the backup file someplace safe such as a rewritable disk or a USB flash-drive. Then once a week, backup your profile again to reflect any changes to your browser since the last time (Sunday is my backup day).

Then if disaster strikes and you need to restore a profile, just run MozBackup again and choose the “Restore a profile” option showed in the screenshot. Everything will then be instantly restored to your newly installed Firefox browser and you can start smiling again.
