Created by Belgium developer, Maarten Schenk, “You Asked It” filters tweets with questions in them. When a question pops up, you get under 30 seconds to respond to it. To use You Asked It, you will of course need a Twitter account and a willingness to write pithy and witty responses to a range of questions.

    If your twitter stream seems a little overcrowded with irrelevant tweets, a new set of Twitter updates for iOS and Android mobile apps now include a special Discover section of tweets, such as news stories, images of current events, and recent activities, tailored for the types of topics individual users may be interested in. The Discover tweets, or “Twitter cards”, section shows linked photos, videos, and article previews within the tweets. To access these tailored tweets, users need to tap on the View All Tweets tab in the Discover section.

  • Pinterest Posts New Guidelines for Businesses and E-Commerce Users [Updates]

    The popular virtual bookmarking site, Pinterest posted this week information and updates about its new set of terms of agreement for e-commerce and general users. Pinterest business users such as retailers, online merchants, publications, designers, institutions or local businesses will be required to sign up for a Pinterest business account, which will provide them a verification badge, an official “Pin It” and “Follow” button, a Profile or Board widget, and access to upcoming marketing features. Existing businesses on Pinterest can use a very simple convert form to apply for the new requirements.

    PayPal announced this week that it will be expanding a part of its Shop-and-Pay-on-the-Go services to international markets. The new service will test the use of QR codes at bricks-and-mortar stores in the Netherlands, which will allow potential customers to scan QR codes posted on billboards, posters, shop windows, etc. and pay for selected items using their PayPal account.

    Well the iPad Mini has arrived, and Dave was correct back in May about why Apple should have released a smaller iPad 3 and bigger iPod touch device. As Dave outlined, the mini addresses the needs of different users; the entry price is lower and thus affordable for many consumers, and it competes pretty well with the Nexus and Windows tablets. But now that I’ve had my iPad Mini for over 24 hours, I’d like to give some first hand reactions as to what is good and not so good about it.
