Each week we scour current Google Play promotions and cherry-pick the best of the best. This week we have a Star Wars pinball game at a great price, and a complex music creation app, too.

Because app sales are temporary affairs, by the time you read this, these may no longer be on sale. Worry not: Simply check back next week for some more Android deals!

Apps

SunVox ($5.99, now $2.99)

A sophisticated music-making app. This one is not for the faint of heart: Prepare for a very real learning curve. On the upside, you get multitrack WAV export and real-time recording support, among other features. You can also import and export MIDI files, which means you can compose on the go and then render and tweak the final recording on your computer.

Vignette (ad-free) ($1.65, now $0.99)

In a word: Classic. Vignette is one camera app that’s been there forever, and it was already great back when I reviewed it almost 3 years ago Take Fantastic Full Resolution Pictures With Vignette [Android 1.5+] Take Fantastic Full Resolution Pictures With Vignette [Android 1.5+] As I told you on my Little Photo review, I am hunting for the perfect camera application for Android. Today’s contender is called Vignette. It’s a commercial application which currently retails for $4 on the... Read More . It’s still very good, and it’s cheap now, which doesn’t hurt either.

Games

Star Wars™ Pinball 3 ($1.99, now $0.99)

It’s a pinball game… with Star Wars characters. You can either root for the Empire or the rebels, using your game score to support either side. You should be aware, though, that the game comes with just one table included (based on The Empire Strikes Back), and if you want extra tables you’ll have to buy them with in-app purchases. Still, just for this one table, this seems like a fun game.

QuestLord ($1.99, now $0.99)

From futuristic pinball to the essence of retro: This is an RPG which is about one evolutionary step above text-only adventure games. You get three save slots, 18 quests, three races, and there’s even a roguelike “perma-death” mode for quick games. It’s little wonder reviewers are raving over QuestLord.

Tune in next week for some more great Android deals! And of course, feel free to share your finds and favorites in the comments below.
