First! And great post as usual.
Oh man, I don’t have Photoshop; I only have GIMP!
Anyone know of the same for Gimp??
Patience is a virtue, who knows what might sprout from MakeUseOf next
I’m brazilian, but I will try to learn something in this guide.
Very good.
This is a great resource, thanks!
I tried downloading the pdf but it appears to be damaged and I couldn’t open the file.

Nice handy guide. I will be downloading it and giving it to some of my students. Not that they are idiots mind you.
I am looking forward to reading this because so far I have struggled with creating drop shadows on my pillow photography. My picture taking sucks… and I haven’t discovered any of my graphic editing talents yet.:)
Thanx for the photoshop guidance. It has helped me much.. and hey this is just a great and marvelous resource.
thanks for the guide..
Great information about photoshop….
Thanks
Very useful! Thank you so much for it.
I’ll chime in on the Gimp request. Gimp is the way of the future. I never was a photoshop fan. I bought a version of Paint Shop Pro 8 and have never upgraded. I love that one! Gimp is similar, but not nearly as user friendly as PSP. The only reason I’m trying to migrate to Gimp is because it’s free and looks to be permanent.
Buying photoshop is like paying for TV that you can view online.
…I think you need ‘An Idiot’s Guide to PDF’ next, because…I don’t even know what the heck a .pdf file is.
Thanks for the guide. It has helped me much.. and hey this is just a great and marvelous resource.
This post is really helpful
In the PDF you mentioned that you would show us how to “replicate the background to make a new piece of it”. Have you perhaps released this guide as yet?
