I will NOT be buying the Fire when it launches, at least until I compare it in person with the Nook tablet which is due out by the end of the week.

Excellent question. I am also not in the US, and when I was checking the new appstore I tried downloading the Kindle app from it, just for kicks. I got an “error”. Nice going, Amazon. :)
