If you own a Kindle Fire and enjoy gaming on it, you are in luck because Amazon just rolled out an awesome new feature called GameCircle that is similar to Apple’s Game Center. This new service connects gamers with each other, has leaderboards and syncs game states between any device.
GameCircle includes a set of APIs for developers to add to their game. They use this to integrate all the features that gamers expect from a unified platform such as this. Amazon is finally stepping up to the plate and attempting to battle Apple in terms of gaming. Gaming on the go is serious business, and having a unified platform like this helps to make the Kindle Fire stand out.
As soon as the service launched, Imangi Studios got on-board integrating GameCircle into their hit game Temple Run. Many more games will follow.
If you own multiple Kindle devices, you can save your games and launch them from any other Kindle Fire device. This does not seem like it would be common, but with the rumors of Amazon launching their own smartphone, it could come in handy down the line.
Amazon is showing that they take their tablet very seriously, and introducing new and exciting features like this makes a strong argument for the value you get from a Kindle Fire.
