Amazon Appstore is celebrating its first birthday, and to honor the occasion, Amazon is offering 50% or more off some popular apps. On top of that, Amazon is holding a Kindle Fire giveaway, and will be handing out 8 Kindle Fire devices at the end of the month.

Amazon Appstore for Android was launched on March 22, 2011, and can be downloaded onto Android devices, or used on Amazon’s Kindle Fire (US only). The celebrations started on March 15 with 67% off Plants vs. Zombies, which you can get for $0.99 instead of its regular $2.99 price tag. Amazon promises to add more deals daily, until the end of the celebration week.

If you have your eyes on the Kindle Fire giveaway, you can enter by heading over to the Amazon Appstore Facebook page and clicking on the Like button. You will then have to fill in an online entry form. The giveaway starts on March 15 and goes on until March 31. The 8 lucky winners will be announced on April 5. You can read more about the giveaway’s terms and conditions here.

The deals are only available this week. Don’t forget to tells us which deal is the best!
