Last week we asked you if you’re using a third-party firewall on your computer. In the day and age of built-in firewalls, you’d think we’d get a clear-cut answer. Not so.
Out of 427 votes in total, 2% use a third-party firewall but don’t think it’s actually necessary, 10% don’t use a firewall but think they probably should, 40% don’t use a third-party firewall, and 48% of the voters use a third-party firewall on their computer.
Full results and this week’s poll after the jump.
Don’t forget to check out last week’s best comment by Keefe K, who gives a good explanation about firewalls vs. anti-virus software, and wins this week’s MakeUseOf t-shirt!
This week’s poll question is: Almost A Year Later: Are You Using Twitter’s Vine?
It’s been almost a year since Twitter launched Vine, its short video service. You may have forgotten, but Vine was here before Instagram video, bringing its 6-second video madness to the public when Instagram was just about photos. Vine made a lot of noise in its first few months, but lately things have quieted down. According to Twitter, Vine has nearly 50 million users, but how many of these are actually active? Was Vine just a short-term gimmick, or are you still using it actively without all the noise? Or did you never even feel compelled to try it? Let’s see where MakeUseOf’s readers stand.
What do you like about Vine? What do you hate about it? Share your thoughts about this colorful app in the comments.
