If you’ve never done yoga, you probably have no idea how difficult it is. The fact is, yoga requires you to engage muscles that other workouts just cannot do. It works on your strength, flexibility, balance, and more. That being said, yoga is a pretty advanced form of exercise that requires some knowledge of the wide range of poses in order to really be able to take advantage of what it can do for you. Without a personal trainer, it is difficult to make the most of yoga.
The iPhone All-In Yoga app is the perfect personal trainer without the crazy high cost. It’s packed with features, and it’s incredibly easy to use. It comes with yoga poses for all skill levels, so even if you’ve never done a yoga pose in your life, this app can help you get started. And if you’re a seasoned pro, the app has you covered as well.
Best of all, you can grab the All-In Yoga app free from the App Store for a limited time. It normally sells for $.99, so this is your chance to save a dollar while you improve your physical well-being with some effective yoga exercises.
Using The App
When you launch the app, it will ask you to create a new profile or sign up with Facebook. If you want to be able to share with your friends, signing up with Facebook is the way to go. If you want to keep everything private, you may want to just create a new profile. After you make an account, the app will ask you if you’d like to receive push notifications, to which you can say yes or no.
The first section of the app that you are going to want to jump in is called “My Programs.” This is where you will get a plan for your own yoga programs. You can choose from the Quick Recipes, Personal Yoga Teacher, and Fast Mode. Each of these functions a little differently, and which you use will depend on your level.
Quick Recipes is a bunch of preset routines from the creators of the app. The Yoga Teacher will need you to enter some details about yourself, and then it will create a custom routine based on what you enter. Fast Mode takes you to the giant list of yoga poses and lets you choose which ones you want in your very own workout.
On the main screen, you can click on “Pose Base” to see all the poses available within the app. They are divided up by difficulty from beginner to guru.
Clicking on any pose will give you a ton of information about it. The buttons for changing what information is displayed is on the top of the screen. Pose shows you a large picture of the poses; Info tells you more about each pose; Muscle shows you what muscles are engaged; and video lets you see a person doing the pose in action.
When you actually go to exercise in the app, it will take a few seconds to load your program, and then it will take you to a screen where it automatically cycles through the photos for the appropriate pose. This gives the feeling of a professional application, where it actually feels more like you are working with an actual trainer instead of an app on your iPhone.
When you finish a workout, the app will pop up a box prompting you to share your success on Facebook or Twitter. You can choose not to, of course, but it’s always nice to let your friends know when you’ve done something good for yourself, and this app gives you the ability to do so easily.
The Calendar section of the app shows you the days you’ve done your workouts. Any day you successfully worked out will have a flower over it.
If you are really into yoga, the app comes with the Yoga Magazine built-in, for an extra cost of course. You can sign up for a digital subscription from the app, and then you can see the latest happenings in the yoga world directly from within the application.
If you are looking for a well-made yoga application on your iPhone, look no further than the All-In Yoga app. It’s free for a limited time, but don’t wait, because before you know it, it will go back to $.99, and you will have missed the boat!
