So you have an assignment and you need to read a book for it. But just looking at the size of the book makes you scared right? Or maybe you just love reading books but take a lot of time finishing one. If this is the case for you, then you should check out Acceleread.

Acceleread is a very effective app for the iPad which allows the user to improve their reading speed within a few days. Not only that, but the user is also taught how to retain focus on the task (book) at hand, and ensure that they remember more of it; no more skip-backs to see what was going on.

improve your reading speed

The app also trains the user to avoid unintentional reading, and makes sure the reading is as productive as ever, keeping focus on only the important stuff and avoiding unhelpful stuff, which dramatically improves not only the reading speed but also decreases the time taken for that specific book to be thoroughly read.

Once the training is complete, the user can take the built-in app speed test which will tell them how fast they can read and also remember what they just read. This can also be helpful if you want to see whether the app is useful or not by measuring your reading speed before and after taking the training courses provided by Acceleread.

Will check to see if maybe 2-3 day trial is available.

Agh I just got this app a few days ago! Totally worth it though – I'm only a few lessons in, but I'm already reading much, much faster than I used to.

oh cool - I used Acceleread at the beginning of the year when they were doing a back to school thing. I liked it a lot. I did the beginner course and my reading speed shot up. I always recommend this to students with iPads.

While I am not one of the first 10 to comment on this thread, I will ask those who have tried or will try this app to reply back to let others know how functional this app is. I have several tests that I need to begin preparing to take. The study books are huge and I definitely need to bump up my reading speed. If this app will get me reading faster, it is a worthwhile investment. Thanks.

Damn, I'm #12. Would love to give it try if you're feeling generous! Or if there's a trial version... I'm not afraid to spend money on an app as long as I've been able to try it out :-)
