XNView is more or less identical to IrfanView in features, but looks better. Personally, I prefer IrfanView as it is faster, and I find it easier, but others may prefer XNView. I second that. That said, since around version 4.10 it has had the 'IrfanPaint' plug-in which gives it several useful painting tools.
