We asked you, What Is The Most Pointless App You Have Ever Installed? We had a great response to this question, with plenty of you seeing fit to enlighten us with your knowledge of pointless apps.

This question was prompted by the explosion in popularity of Yo Amazon Shops New 3D Fire Phone, Say Yo To The Dumbest App Ever, And More... Read More , an app which does nothing more than enable you and your friends to send ‘Yo’ to each other. Yo is clearly pointless, but it turns out there are at least eight apps more pointless than Yo.

We didn’t actually specify a particular platform that these pointless apps should be on, but most of the apps recommended to us are available for Android. Has Apple’s stringent quality control freakery actually done some good on this occasion? It certainly looks that way.

I once made an app that tells you whether you’re driving, biking, walking or standing still, along the probability of each activity.
(I made it to test something for another app I’m working on, and no, I didn’t put it on gPlay)
That’s probably the most useless app I’ve ever had on my device.
If homemade apps doesn’t count, I also installed a game on my iPad once where the play button was blocked by an ad.

We chose this comment because the commenter had actually made a pointless app himself, which is all kinds of awesome.
