Excellent tip. I had completely missed this new IMAP support feature. Apparently, back in November, it was all over the web. :-(.

Thanks for heads up ;-)

Aibek,

I thought that the following might be useful as I recently consolidated my outlook archives and backups into Gmail using the the new IMAP feature in Gmail and Thunderbird.

After turning on IMAP and configuring Thunderbird
(http://lifehacker.com/software/geek-to-live/turn-thunderbird-into-the-ultimate-gmail-imap-client-314574.php)

I just imported my outlook archives into thunderbird
(http://lifehacker.com/340521/import-outlook-pst-files-into-thunderbird-with-pst-import)
and at that point, you can drag and drop folders of messages into the appropriate folder in Gmail.

I enjoy using Thunderbird but really, you can do this using any IMAP client. This way, you can have archives locally and online. Hope this is helpful to someone.

Sorry, I use thunderbird, so can't really help you here. Nevertheless, both Mailstore, Amic Email Backup, and Oulook Express Backup seem to work just fine. The only major difference, Mailstore backs up your data to a CD while other two to a file.
