Yep, canned responses was what I was looking for and more. Only slight issue with it for me is that I have to remember to select canned responses or I have no signature. I a have my signature turned on, than I have to delete my signature (not hard) before or after hitting canned responses.

Blank canvas Gmail in firefox is kind of bad. It loads your signatures really slowly so you’ll be halfway through an email, then it shoots your signature in and messes up your formatting. It can take literally one minute to put your signature in a new message automatically, or even when you click ‘reinsert signature’

Well, currently the best option is definitely the labs feature “canned responses”. That way it’s always with you, no matter what computer you’re on. Now it adds the text below the courser and leaves the original message even if you’re replying.

the first one is good but does not work very well with firefox 3, since it cannot store the signatures between sessions. So you have to create them every time you restart firefox. This bug is well known, but will not be removed from the developer for now.

I think you misread my post; Blank Canvas works fine for me.

What I said is that when I need to use GMail away from my own computers, I access my signatures using GMail’s own Canned Responses feature, which always replace the quoted text.

My apologies if I’ve missed it in a previous post, but I have a related question.

Love Gmail, and like you, use it to consolidate multiple accounts into one inbox. The problem I have is that it always appends the “on behalf of” when responding from an account not listed as my primary. That kind of defeats the purpose for me and makes it look like I’m really responding from a different account than was mailed to.

Any solutions for that issue?

What version of BC Gmail sigs do you have? v1.11.09 should have fixed the replacing of quoted text on reply.
