I upgraded to Lion shortly after buying my Macbook Pro, so I didn't really get the chance to get acclimated to Snow Leopard. I have had zero issues with Lion, however. None of the issues I see other people having. Maybe I can count myself lucky, and I'm new to Mac, but I love Lion thus far. Mission control and launchpad are amazing, and the touch controls are so intuitive and easy to use. I'm hooked.

I took the plunge and upgraded. I have a 2 y/o macbook (white) with 4GB. Most of the new stuff I don't use - who would?, but I was always using Spaces and it is now much improved with Mission Control.

Unfortunately, I've never seen so many spinning beach balls ever before. Chrome runs like a dog (a very old dog) and I find myself having to reboot often as the CPU cycles go through the roof. Mail keeps crashing when composing or replying to emails...I also use an Iomega external NAS drive with authentication which now works fine after running the various commands to weaken Lion's authentication.....

For the first time I have regretted upgrading early, mostly because of the performance hit.

I upgraded to Lion on my 2010 MacBook Pro (i7, 8GB RAM, 64GB Kingston SSD). It's so fast!! But... there are some quirks.

For instance: Upon booting up to the login screen after the install, the entire system locked up on me and began to run CPU cycles until it got so hot I could not touch the bottom of the notebook. It does this every 3rd or 4th time I restart/cold-boot, and sometimes will continue for 5 straight restarts.

Another quirk is that currently, alot of Apps don't 100% support Lion yet... WHY NOT?! They seeded many, MANY alpha, pre-beta and beta builds to developers, and any good developer would take advantage of this to code for the platform. Now, don't get me wrong, its probably my fault for not investigating into the compatibility of some of my favourite Apps for Lion, but come-on!

All-in-all however I love how Lion looks and feels. Mission Control and Launchpad are some of my favourite big features, as well as the new trackpad gestures. Not a big fan of the natural scrolling though.

Just my 2-cents.
