Does Facebook depress or annoy you? If you're too curious about the world to quit your social network, why not Like some pages that will entertain, educate, and inspire you?

Motivational speaker Jim Rohn claimed that we are the average of the five people we spend the most time with. If you spend a lot of time on Facebook and consume what your friends share, it has an impact on how you think, act, and feel. To change who you are, you need to change your environment. Since you cannot change other people, start with yourself and focus on what gets your attention and thus has an impact on who you are.

You can manage your Facebook news feed to see only what you care for, inspire your friends by posting great status updates yourself, or Like pages that inspire you. You'll find some excellent options below.

Stunning Photos & Cool Facts: Milky Way Scientists

Milky Way Scientists Facebook Page

The first thing you will notice about this page are the stunning photos. Many of them are submitted by one of over 10,000 members of the Milky Way Scientists closed group. The photos grabbed my attention, but what literally made me Like this page were some of the facts shared with each photo. There is so much to learn and see in this world!

Milky Way scientists is for humanists with an active interest in science. We believe that science is a fundamental part of humanism but also that it should be directed to humane and ethical ends. Science is, in our view, more a method than a body of facts.

For me, Milky Way Scientists has been a travel inspiration. In early August, as I was planning my USA road trip, I noticed this update showing a photo of Mt. Hood mirrored in Trillum lake [Broken URL Removed]. The lake is a 90 minutes drive east of Portland, Oregon, which was going to be on my route. I made the trip and took the photo that probably made you open this article.

Mindblowing Facts: I Fucking Love Science

I Fucking Love Science Facebook Page

This page presents the lighter side of science, which can be anything from bringing a 32,000 year old plant back to life, inspirational quotes, and mindblowing facts, to fun stuff like this mosaic of the San Francisco sky. Those scientists sure keep you entertained!

We're here for the science — the funny side of science. Quotes, jokes, memes and anything your admin finds awesome and strange. If you take yourself seriously, you're on the wrong page. We're dedicated to bringing the amazing world of science straight to your newsfeed in an amusing and accessible way.

Hilarious & Eye Opening Insights: The Idealist

The Idealist Facebook Page

The Idealist's About page contains only three quotes, but it's quite a read and will give you an idea of the mindset behind this page. The Idealist manages to remain politically neutral, thus the quotes and thoughts will be inspiring and entertaining for a broad audience, although the general mindset is very liberal.

My favorite updates from the Idealist are inspirational and encouraging stories like the one about the two sick men sharing a hospital room or the rickshaw puller. The many visually presented quotes, cartoons, and memes provide some lighter entertainment.

Pure Entertainment: Meanwhile In Canada

Meanwhile In Canada Facebook Page

Those Canadians are a funny bunch and they know it. But this page not only pokes fun at Canadian stereotypes or political failures, it also highlights very special Canadian moments and runs the occasional caption contest. Although political in nature, it's mostly a hilariously funny page, especially if you have a soft spot for Canada.
