PocketSNES. The number one app I use. The iPhone may have games, but the Supener Nintendo Entertainment System will always beat the iPhone.

Does anyone know if an application exists for WM that is similar to TextFree for the iPhone/iPod Touch? I would like to send text msgs over the data network without using my text plan.

That's pretty much comparing apples (literally) to bananas. The Nokia 5800 is NOT designed to be a "smartphone" like the Windows Mobile phones and maybe the iPhone, which also reflected in the price tag. I am not saying it doesn't seem to be a nifty phone, just it is not in the same league.

To be honest I found Twitter too unreliable and a resource-hog to enjoy it for long on my HTC Touch Dual. I use BeejiveIM and Skype Mobile now.

Other software I find useful is Google Maps and Dashwire to synch my contacts and photos.

Then there is MilkSync paired with AM Tasks+ so I can see the most recent tasks directly on my screen rather than a list only.

And there's Mobipocket, a quite nice ebook reader.

I've recently gotten hooked on Skybook for Facebook interaction. Nice clean interface, good core functions, all in an app rather than a browser window.

+1 for Skyfire, although I also really like Opera Mini. Skyfire is great when I'm using wifi, even if the app does use almost all of my phone's RAM... But since my phone doesn't use 3G (it uses EDGE), the only browser that's really usable without wifi is Opera Mini. Smaller memory footprint, much faster page loading, all in all it's pretty great.

Other must-haves for me:

- Oxios Alarm Clock, a ton better than WinMo's built-in alarm clock
- Celetask, IMO probably the best task manager
- Google Maps, did nobody say this yet? Really?!
- Talkonaut, another good, multi-client IM program (I like the Java version better than the standalone WinMo version)

And one "word to the wise" -- if you happen to flash the ROM on an HTC phone and all of a sudden see an application called OMPAPClock, <strong>don't use it!</strong> It's an overclocking utility, but when I tried to use it my phone froze and wouldn't start up again. I had to do a hard reset and lose all the programs I'd installed.

Any advice will be appreciated.
