Keeping a diary? I’m all for that – but NOT on Gmail. You wrote, “Gmail is almost built for this function in a sense. It is private…” Private? There’s something creepy about the targeted ads based on content of emails when you apply it to diary keeping. Good post, except for not pointing out that uncomfortable thought regarding diary entries.

Funny enough, if I send myself an email from Gmail I never get it! It’s happened to several other people too. Perhaps I have a funny setting?

I do love the idea of using it as a diary. I’m on Gmail constantly on my webtop, why not use it to journal instead of having to open up a word processor? Love it!

I like the personal diary idea of yours. I’ve used gmail as a backup of my image collection and with proper filters and labels , i was able to organise it in a neat way.

A lot of things can be used for something outside their original purpose, try and force yourself to think of some I bet I can come up with a few more, and other peopel would come up with a LOT I never thought of
