DropBox is a wonderful tool. I’ve written about it on Sitejabber.com sharing great tools with others. Clouding is, I believe, just coming into it’s own. I use Panda Cloud AV, and one back-up tool is MOZY. I enjoy and recommend both.

p.s. If you have the need for an editor/copywriter, I can do that. I often find typos and syntactical errors. Not a big deal, but I’d be happy to clean the newsletters and be part of the MakeUseOf team!

I use it to share stuff with my girlfriend. I dump it to my Dropbox and it starts downloading on her Mac. Magical!

Sweet, I just recommended Dropbox to a friend of mine a week ago

He signed up for the service since he liked it, he’s also recommending it to his school

You forgot to mention that there is a portable version available for USB Drives, externals, etc

The convenient thing about the portable version is that it does not require .NET Framework to run, this is very convenient if you’re working on a machine without .NET Framework and lack the admin privileges to install .NET Framework on the machine

For non linux users there is an alternative from Microsoft that works with a MAC, too.
You can right click a folder an add it to the cloud where ever it is located on your computer. There is also a remote control for every computer added to your account that can be accessed from every computer or through the web front end. Every users gets 5GB online storage.

I use both, dropbox and mesh and add my dropbox folder to the mesh
So it is safe if dropbox or mesh isn’t available in future.

Dropbox is excellent software. I have gotten several friends to sign up for it. It is great to share files between friends or have them on several computers.

It is great for friends who aren’t technologically savvy to share photos too. Even though I have a laptop, netbook and desktop, I love having my files available on all of them or at just any computer I happen to be sitting at.

A really good cloud-based notebook is Evernote, if you ever wanted to give that a try. Google Notebooks, I believe, is still alive, but you’d have to dig for it. Unfortunately, Evernote is a paid-app (but the free option isn’t too crippled, lucky us XP ), and it’s a good option to have if you want to be able to access your notes without needing to have Onenote installed.
:] But I’m just saying that cuz part of me wishes I had backed up my onenote notebooks before I wiped my partitions on my laptop…. LOL
