The list of ways to entertain yourself on the web is practically endless. Just choose your poison – Facebook, games, news sites, blogs, etc. Blogs that entertain you these days abound – you have probably heard of The Oatmeal, Hyperbole and a Half, Fail Blog, Damn You Autocorrect, Cracked, The Chive….all of which rely on images or videos to amuse you.

Today we’ll take a look at several blogs filled with stories, especially hilarious ones, that can feed our bored minds well. They are simple, text-based sites with no fancy screenshots or images, and no videos to embellish the posts. Even without these elaborate additions, these blogs will keep you wanting for more posts where hilarity ensues.

Not Always Romantic

You might have heard of Not Always Right, a blog documenting how employees try to satisfy unreasonable customers from the employees’ perspectives. Not Always Romantic is a blog with a parallel concept in that you can send in your stories, where you describe the quirky happenings or conversation between a loved one and yourself.

Here is one such story that will surely be welcomed by The Big Bang Theory fans.

The site includes all sort of un-romantic quotes, stories of how couples first met, and even of very cute, flirty moments that might or might not turn your stomach. Overall, this collection of interesting stories will surely leave you laughing or at least amused from cheesiness.

Not Always Related

Following the tradition of the previous blog, this site features stories involving family members, much like Awkward Family Photos, except it’s all in text form, not photographs. Take a look at a funny way to keep a child calm.

Much like the sites from the Not Always family network, there’s a hall of fame section that will guide through the most upvoted posts with superbly awkward but hilarious conversations.

Don’t Even Reply

Here is a blog that will make you laugh at all the trolling that the author has done to random Craigslist ad owners. The creator basically chooses a Craigslist ad and replies to the person that posted it trolling to the point that of course, the ad poster will be understandably ticked off. The magic lies on the imagination of the blogger, who has even released a book with some of these hilarious conversations between him and the Craigslist ad owner.

Since the conversation involves ridiculous trolling, the conversations will often contain profanity, so you’ve been warned. Here’s one conversation where at least no profanity is used.

One of the first ones that I read that I really liked was titled Comanche Quest, which I assure you will be pretty funny, though you can’t help but feel bad for the Craigslist ad owner.
