20 Tools To Make your Ipod Better
Now that we have published list of tools for Youtube and Myspace it’s time to add another biggie to the lists category and iPod seems to be just the right option. Finding good tools and yet free turned out to be little harder then I expected, and now once I am done I get a feeling something is missing, anyways I’ll get it right over time.
General Ipod Management Tools

GoogleGet: weather+news combo tool. When it comes to news, best option would be to have something like RSS reader that can convert feeds into iPod readable format, however I wasn’t able to find any free tool for that, what I got is Igadget which will cost you ($15). Post it in comments in case you know about any other alternative
iDirectionz: store driving directions on your iPod (update: idirectionz will work only on windows, thanks to iching for pointing it out)
iPodGym: turn iPod into your gym advisor; iPodGym is a website where you can find over 80 exercise videos (incl. descriptions) all of which can adopted to the iPod format.
iPodwizard: windows program that let’s you change fonts, graphics and text on you iPod
Ipod-notes | Ipod-ebook-creator: these 2 nifty tools let you easily create iPod compatible ebooks from regular text files. If you use one of these 3rd Party tools and have video on your ipod, it will break your database and videos will show up as normal music…

Another useful thing is take the iPod for City-Audioguides. For instance, iAudioguide.com offers 20 free mp3 city tours, and there are others selling city audiotours for 4-10 $.

yeah, the mp3 city guides are surprisingly good. as an idea, however a couple of the ones i’ve tried have been poor on content and poor on quality. they’re also quite samey, a lot of them – you know, walks around some part of paris.
thought the best one that i’ve stumbled across was http://www.strollon.co.uk. they’ve got quite a good idea called the 60 minute city which combines more general info (eating out, using the metro) with guides around the top 10 attractions in the city, so it’s useful before and when you get there. and it sounds good. and it’s free.

Hi, im interested in how i can get a kind of folder or directory in the ipod which i can make password protected, so if others are using my ipod they only have access to what they suppose to have access to.. is that somehow possible? 9maybe a specific tool for it somewhere?)

dvdfab is also a good software to convert movies to ipod. u will have to manually take off subtitles and adjust volume. volume tends to be a bit low so jack it up a bit and ur good!!!
