Cruiser - Selftitled [No Longer Available]

Genre: alternative, indie, pop, rock

From the album page: "Cruiser, a solo project by Philadelphia native Andy States, was brought to life in the walk-in closet of a crowded inner city loft. States’ demos eventually landed in the hands of Jeremy Park, producer of Youth Lagoon’s The Year of Hibernation, who offered to produce Cruiser’s EP after hearing the songs. With its infectious melodies and beachy guitars, the Cruiser EP captures the carefree essence of the summer months. Whether enjoyed in good company or completely alone, quite simply, Cruiser is meant to make you feel good."

SHOELACE - Old Shoes

Genre: electronic, fusion, lo-fi, soul, rap, hip hop, instrumentals

From DIG: "The first thing a hip-hop fan would notice, however, is the fine-tuned mastery of audible creative devices to get his message across. [Alessi] Ngemi [aka Shoelace] uses everything – time signatures, vocal staccato, samples ranging from All Dogs Go To Heaven to The Carpenters – to create the channel through which an audience is most likely to understand what he’s about to say.

The thing that will make Shoelace famous one day is the fusion of these two perspectives: he has altered the production process to fit his songs, instead of the other way around. And like Poe used every word and all five senses to create his famous moods, every piece of equipment Ngemi used to create Future Money became an instrument, tuned to the theme of the song he was working on. The result is a record that nails it, 17 times."
