I think your readers will enjoy this site. Check out the interview with the zookeeper at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The interview with the zookeeper will give you new insight about the lovability of vultures.

Along with the original content created by the professional staff, the site is open to kid- produced content.The current video was submitted by 11 year old Sam. He interviews an animal behaviorist at the Denver Zoo. It is obvious that the episode was written and filmed by Sam but the MMATC staff did a great job of editing and adding photos and links to take the episode to a new level

MEET ME AT THE CORNER, Virtual Field Trips for Kids (www.meetmeatthecorner.org) is a series of educational video podcasts for kids ages 6-12. New episodes are uploaded every two weeks, with a Learning Corner of questions and extended activities, a list of recommended books and links to fun websites about each topic.

This is a great website for kids, parents, teachers and homeschool families.

Have you tried out ZuiTube. Most of their videos are sourced from YouTube. Though, ultimately it will boil down to what your child likes versus what they offer.

Wish there was a way to censor youtube as there are so many great videos, like lego animation ones etc. but just a few out of the bunch spoil it with bad language etc. All youtube has to do is rate the videos like movies and it would solve the problems, then you could only allow your kids pg or whatever. Real shame, the above sites are a bit too babyish for my 9yo, not really much for him unless I filter all the youtube vids.

Do any of these sites actually work on the iPad. I tried several and none of them did. If they don’t it make the picture that goes along with this article inaccurate. I have an 21 months old that started to use the You tube app on the iPad but had to hide it from him as he could easily go to videos that were not appropriate for his age.
