Crossfading creates a smooth transition between two songs in your playlist. As the first song reaches its end, the volume fades out and gradually goes down, and the volume of the next song fades in and gradually goes up.
Here's little <a href="http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/knowledgecenter/howto/CrossFadeAudioFiles_how_to.aspx" rel="nofollow">how to</a> on crossfading.

Did you mention crossfading? You don't have to listen to 10 seconds of silence.

View --> Enhancements --> Crossfading.

I always WMP 11 constantly both on my desktop at home, and at the library as well

I find very convenient that I can right click on recently added > Open file location > Copy the tracks, paste them into my USB drive, and add them to my iPod Nano

From there I'll delete the music and back it up online, that way I won't have to re-rip the music

I also manually change the album artwork, to better fit my need

to that, I also manually type out the lyrics to the tracks

So the directory will be something like the following path below

(Artist name goes here)> Albums > (Album folders and names go here) > Album art > Lyrics > Tracks

Afterwards, compress with 7-Zip/WinRAR, encrypt the archives, and upload them online for back-up purposes.
