Wishful Thinking For Geeks

We asked you, What Gadget Do You Really Want Right Now? It appears this question was a little vague for some people, as the range of answers given pushed the boundaries out what we originally intended.

We were looking to compile a list of gadgets that were already on the market but which you, for some reason, hadn’t yet purchased. We did, thankfully, manage to compile that list, which you can see below, but a good percentage of those who took part in the discussion focused on gadgets that haven’t yet been invented. Which is another discussion for another day. Tomorrow, perhaps.

So, we had flying cars, teleporters, and the fanboy-baiting “Android phone that will not lag or hang up” given as possible answers. Obviously none of these gadgets exist at the moment, though we share your collective wish that they did.

Thankfully, many people read past the title and came to understand what was actually meant by the question. Which means we were able to pluck 10 existing products from the thread to form our list of gadgets you wish you owned:

  • Nook HD+
  • Oculus Rift
  • Google Glass
  • Moto 360 Smartwatch
  • Oppo Find 7
  • Google Nexus 5

Sony Xperia z1 Compact
It’s awesome specs wise but still too pricey for me.
Still using BB8520, yeah i missed a lot.
It’s rated as one of the best smartphones out right now.
Also tagged as best mini/compact phone besting the other mini offerings.
The phone shows that a phone can be small without compromising its specs.
Best alternative to 5 inch+ smartphone.
Sony understands that not everyone wants a huge phone, there are always consumers that would like small things, easy to carry and can be operated using one hand.

We chose this comment because it answers the question we asked; featuring an ordinary gadget that is available on the market but unobtainable for the person commenting. It also includes a rundown of reasons why this person wants this particular gadget over every other piece of hardware currently on the market.
