free musicEvery edition of Sound Sunday comes together like magic. Artists submit their work, some folks suggest albums, random Bandcamp browsing sessions reveal priceless gems, and occasionally traditional media point me to new music. All is added to my list. When it’s time to compile another edition, I draw a selection from the vast collection and complement it with matching new releases Twitter has to contribute. This week starts of energetic, but quickly reveals its mellow touch.

Amos The Transparent – Goodnight My Dear, I’m Falling Apart

Genre: alternative, rock

From their Facebook page: Although they claim to be transparent, Amos are anything but. They live between the light and the dark, sometimes in the shadows, occasionally in the dark, more often in the light. Their songs take them there. Quantum shifts between heavy and light, soft and hard, loud and quiet. (…)
On the newest record, “Goodnight, My Dear… I’m Falling Apart”, Amos The Transparent explore a wide variety of musical textures and dynamics. Calling on the expertise of Gus van Go and Werner F for the final touches, the band took the tracks to the Boiler Room in NYC for some additional production and mixes. The album contains both upbeat indie pop tracks such as the first single, ‘Sure as the Weather’ as well as dark, more experimental tunes like ‘Convince the Mayor’ and as been dubbed the record that “truly captures their sound”.
