Social media extensions continue to be popular for all browsers. Having that little icon in your toolbar that either notifies you or allows to you click and share is very handy.

Opera has several pages of social media extensions to choose from, but which work well and which do not? Here is a list of 10 excellent extensions for Opera that work great and cover the popular social media networks.

Facebook

Fastest Facebook is a really nice extension that not only notifies you of something new, but pops open a small window for you to interact. It is a complete Facebook site, just like you would see in your main browser window, but miniature-sized.

You can perform pretty much anything that you would on the website or app. Check your news feed, friend requests, messages, notifications, search, and create a post. The window can also be resized and moved as needed. Fastest Facebook is a really useful tool.

Facebook Messenger is another excellent extension for staying in touch with friends and family. Not only does it pop open a small window for your messages, but allows you to interact on Facebook as well.

You can see your notifications, news feed, friend requests, and create a post. The Facebook Messenger extension for Opera offers more than just keeping up with Facebook messages, which makes it a great tool.

The Facebook Share Button is a simple but useful extension. Sharing the page you are visiting on Facebook can be done with a tap of the icon in your toolbar.

You can then edit the post, choose to share it on your timeline or a page you manage, and post just to your friends or to the public. If you share on Facebook more often than other social media sites, then the Facebook Share Button extension is for you.

Easy Twitter is another extension from the developer (Oinkandstuff) of the Facebook Messenger extension. So, again you will have a small pop-up window when you click the icon.

Tweet, retweet, mark favorites, reply, check your mentions, review trends, and even search with this convenient tool. The Easy Twitter extension works great and offers everything you need to stay up to date with Twitter.

A second good option for Twitter is called Notifier for Twitter. It offers all of the terrific stuff you can perform on the Twitter site. So, you can tweet and retweet, search and reply, and follow and unfollow very easily.

Instagram Web is one more extension created by Oinkandstuff. So, this means you will see that nifty pop-up again and be able to perform tons of Instagram actions.

App for Google+ from Oinkandstuff provides everything you need for interacting on Google+ in its own window. Create a post and include a photo, check out what’s new from those in your circles, review your notifications, and share, like, or comment.

There are not a lot of options for Tumblr extensions for Opera, so your best bet is Tumblr Notifier. Quickly check out your feed, view comments, reblog posts, and create your own. The extension has its own window, which is wonderful.

There are no arrows for navigating forward or backward easily like the other extension windows above. However, there is a menu on the left side where you can quickly navigate to your dashboard, settings, likes, and followers. If you are a heavy user of Tumblr and just want a simple extension that works in a hurry, then Tumblr Notifer is for you.
