How To Watch TV On The Web With BBC iPlayer [Mainly UK Only]

The Internet is becoming an increasingly important source for content of all media. There are legal and not-so-legal ways of listening to music, watching television and movies, playing games, and obtaining software. All via a simple broadband connection. You don’t even need a computer these days thanks to the range of devices which you can hook up to the Web in order to transform them from dumb to smart.

4 Reasons I Hate Facebook’s New Timeline View [Opinion]

Change is hard for me. I find it very difficult to decide on a new brand of socks to wear if an old one I like isn’t available at the store. It’s a long and painful process that usually doesn’t impact anything at all, since most socks feel about the same after a few weeks. Imagine what happened when I saw Facebook’s new Timeline feature. How to Download & Back Up Your Gmail & Other Google Data

We’re storing more and more data in the cloud these days. Email, contacts, documents, photos, calendar entries – you name it, it’s on Google’s servers. But what happens when the services we rely on go down? When the US government seized Megaupload, many users lost data they were storing on Megaupload’s servers.

PaperPort: Nuance’s Latest Dictation Notepad [iPad]

I am an avid user of Nuance’s Dragon Dictate voice dictation application. Despite the program’s quirks and misrecognitions, I use it because it relieves the stress of typing by hand, and because it also types four to five times faster than I do. The company’s latest release, PaperPort Notes for the iPad may be useful to students and for those who want to use their iOS device for notetaking and annotating documents.
