Are you having difficulty participating in a giveaway? Which one?

Entering giveaways is not meant to be as simple as submitting your email address because the competition would be fierce. However, it’s not impossible! So please take the time to learn the process or you’ll be missing out in lots of cool prizes. You know that old adage, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

I can’t think of a better way to put it.

It sounds like many people are having a bit of trouble downloading the cheat-sheets. I don’t USUALLY have a problem with that, but I DO have a really, really hard time trying to put my “name in the hat” to enter the giveaways. I love the opportunity to try to win some very cool stuff, but man-oh-man, what a hassle to just enter! I often just say to heck with it; it’s too difficult. Which, I suppose, makes even better odds of winning for those who have the “secret decoder ring” and are able to enter.
Far be it from me to look a gift horse in the mouth, but just a respectful suggestion–PLEASE streamline the process. It’d be nice to just plug my email addy into a blank and hit submit…

Ambracey, you cannot unlock the download with your email address, you need the password you received after subscribing. To view the password again, enter your email address in the sign-up form here. If you are already subscribed, you will be taken to a page showing the password immediately.

It won’t let me download with the email I use to subscribe to your newsletter. And it won’t let me download with a different email address to subscribe. Way to go to help out your subscribers.

Social networks is just one of the available options. Those that don’t want to use it may subscribe to our Newsletter instead.

Not a bad idea to market MUO, but not subtle enough; seems like a self-promotion in need of better transparency. I, too, stay away from social networking other than Linked-In, which I don’t fully trust either.

I feel the same, I do not have facebook etc. I subscribe to Makeuseof, I donot have any password but I would like to download some of the cheet sheets.
Perhaps you should sort out your maketing, If I have to jump through hoops – it is all too hard and not of a benifit to me.

You are making this entirely too complicated to be worth taking advantage of! I don’t think I’m going to bother trying to go through this download system to get thes cheat sheets!

I’m not on social networking sites but I would still like to download your guides. I can spread good words about MakeUseOf by old fashioned word of mouth (which is much more trusted IMHO).
